Neville Chamberlain CBENeville Chamberlain, CBE - Chairman
After obtaining a degree and MSc in Physics from Durham University, Neville joined the nuclear industry in 1962 as a Health Physicist. His subsequent career embraced experience in research, operations and commercial management leading to his appointment as Chief Executive of BNFL in 1986. After 10 successful years in that role, he became Deputy Chairman before retiring from BNFL in 1999.

Neville has received numerous honours and awards throughout his career. He was awarded a CBE in 1990, an Honorary DSc from Salford University in 1989 and the Melchett Medal from the Institute of Energy in 1989. He is an honorary Fellow of the European Nuclear Society, an honorary member of the French Nuclear Society and was the 1996 Chairman of the European Nuclear Council. He is also a member of the International Nuclear Energy Academy, serving as its Chairman from 2001 to 2004 and serves on the Board of AMEC Nuclear Holdings Ltd. He is a Companion of the Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Freeman of the City of London (Fuellers’ Company).
Xiaodong JiaDr Xiaodong Jia, Director and Co-Founder
Xiaodong is currently a Lecturer in the School of Chemical and Process Engineering in the University of Leeds. He has 25 years’ experience in computer simulations and modelling of various particulate systems (including colloids, fine powders, granules and large rocks), published more than 60 papers and presented his work at numerous international conferences. His interests also include tomographic measurements, particularly electrical and X–ray tomography. He previously held research positions at UMIST and the University of Exeter.
Richard A WilliamsProf Richard A Williams OBE, FREng, FTSE, Director and Co-Founder
Richard is Principal and Vice Chancellor at Heriot Watt University and was formerly Pro Vice Chancellor at Universities of Birmingham and Leeds. His research areas include mineral engineering, particulate modeling and integrated energy systems including specialist interests in energy storage and nuclear decommissioning. He holds editorial positions with several academic journals and has published over 300 papers along with 10 books and several patents. Richard has also made a major contribution to the commercialisation of research and was a founding Director of Industrial Tomography Systems PLC. He was a Director of the Manufacturing Technology Centre Ltd, Alta Innovations Ltd and Leeds Innovations Ltd. He has received numerous personal awards in connection with his work including The Royal Academy of Engineering Silver Medal in 2003 for work in "commercialisation that has had major societal impact". He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and Honorary Professor of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was awarded an OBE in 2009.
Dr Alison FieldingDr Alison Fielding
Alison has extensive experience of creating, building and exiting science-based businesses, having co-founded Techtran Group Ltd and was the Chief Operating Officer of IP Group until July 2013 when she moved into a new role with the Company as Director of IP Impact. Previously, Ali spent five years at McKinsey & Co where she consulted primarily to the pharmaceutical and health care sectors. Prior to McKinsey, Ali spent four years as a development chemist for Zeneca, performing technical roles in the speciality chemicals and agrochemicals divisions. Ali holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and a first class degree in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow.
